Well… That’s just fucking stupid.
Eye color is a polygenic trait and is determined by the amount and type of pigments in the eye’s iris. It is due to a dark brown pigment called Melanin ,produced in the iris of the eyes. The genes for eye color decides the melanin amount and hence the color of the eye. So people with the lighter skin and hair have lower level of melanin and usually have lighter color of eyes. There is only three colors as classified that determine the outward appearance; brown, yellow, and blue. Number of genes controlling melanin decides the eye color also. Many babies have blue eyes at the of birth because at that time their body has not started to produce of melanin in their body. Their true color may not be revealed for several months. Its not necessary for a baby to have same eye color as that of their parents.
